The Premier Government Sports Event

The Lagos State Inter-Agency Games is the most anticipated sporting event for all government ministries, departments, and agencies. This annual event brings together civil servants from across the state to compete, network, and showcase their athletic talents.

Now in its 19th edition, the 2025 games promise to be the biggest and most exciting yet, with new sports added to the competition and enhanced facilities for participants and spectators alike.

How to Register

Follow these simple steps to register your team for the Lagos State Inter-Agency Games 2025

PSO Administrator Setup

The Public Service Office administrator creates user accounts for each participating agency/ministry with unique login credentials.

HR/Admin Registration

Agency HR/Admin logs in to their dashboard to generate a unique registration link for their staff members.

Staff Registration

Interested participants click the registration link, fill the form, and select their preferred sports.

Note: Only Lagos State government employees are eligible to participate.

Game Rules & Regulations

Tennis Rules

  1. The game starts with a coin toss to determine which player must serve first and which side they want to serve from.
  2. The server must serve each point from alternative sides on the base line
  3. At no point must the server’s feet move in front of base line on the court prior to hitting the serve.
  4. ​For a tennis player to win a set he/she must win with at least a two games lead
  5. All player should be a full staff and come with his or her ID card to the venue.
  6. Matches will be a short set of 4 games, Final set will be match tie break of 10 points.
  7. Quarter finals to finals will be best of 3 tie break sets.
  8. All players should be on full tennis wears and canvas.
  9. All players should come with his or her racket to the venue.
  10. 15 minute work over time.
  11. ​All players should wear face mask entering the tennis court.
  12. ​No hand shake after matches, only shake with your rackets.

Scrabble Rules

  1. A game takes 20 minute per player.
  2. CHALLENGING A WORD OR WORDS – It is not challenge and loose turn, but 10 points penalty will be awarded to the player that played the correct word or words, while the challenger takes his or her normal turn.
  3. Player should come along with a complete rotating scrabble board.
  4. The tile bag should be properly washed and dried.
  5. The player should come with their timers.
  6. There will be only one single event for males
  7. There will be only one single event for females.
  8. The number of games to be played will be determined in a meeting by the players and the officials before the game starts.
  9. The new Collins scrabble words (CSW19) will be used.
  10. N/B, Tournament director’s decision is the final in any dispute.

Tug of War Rules

  1. Each team in a Tug of War competition consists of eight people
  2. There are various weight classifications in Tug of War, and the mass of the eight people combined must not weigh more than that determined by the category that they are placed in.
  3. The rope used should be of a circumference of approximately 11 cm and should be marked in the middle with a centre line as well as two marks that should be placed 4m from the centre line.
  4. At the start of the pull, the centre line of the rope should be immediately above line marked on the ground.
  5. Both teams pull the rope, the winner being the team who manage to pull the mark on the rope closest to their opponents over the centre line.
  6. The rope must be pulled underarm and nobody’s elbow must go below the knee, otherwise a foul will be called.
  7. Matches are often a best of three (3) pulls, the winner winning two (2) out of the three (3) pulls.

Key Chess Tournament Rules:

  1. Games will be played using FIDE laws of chess
  2. Mobile phones must be switched off during play
